Recruitment 3.0 comes to HR Happy Hour Europe

By Matthew Jeffery

Certainly one of the hottest topics being talked about at recruitment conferences this summer is Recruitment 3.0. The term was used by Matthew Jeffery (Head of EMEA Talent Acquisition & Global Talent Brand, Autodesk) as the title of his co-authored white paper ‘A Vision for the Future of Recruitment’ and this vision has definitely divided opinion and sparked a vibrant debate within the industry.

The conversation now comes to HR Happy Hour Europe as we can reveal that Matthew will be our special guest on next week’s show!

At 8pm (GMT) on Wednesday 13th July you’ll be able to hear him talk through his vision and why he feels the recruiting landscape is about to change forever and you will also have the opportunity to call in and talk to him – whether it’s to clarify or challenge, or both!

So what is Recruitment 3.0?

Recruitment 3.0 is about building engaged communities, telling a story, listening, discussing and fostering an emotional attachment with new talent’ said Matthew. ‘Recruiter 3.0 needs to combine a range of skills including marketing, market segmentation, PR & messaging, sales, candidate relationship management and presentation & communication skills

Some of the core principles include:

  • Not everyone is looking for a job
  • Everyone is a potential candidate or brand ambassador, even your customers
  • Employment brand is pivotal to your success in talent acquisition
  • You are not in control of what people are saying
  • Building relationships is key

  1. Great article. I’ve enjoyed this contribution. Its nice to see every questions answered in a blog post like this. I will add this post on my blog and link to it. Thanks for a clear informative post, I’ve learned a lot. I hope to see videos though as I can be A.D.D and reading articles is not my favorite thing to do online. So what I do sometimes is just print the whole thing and read offline.
